DOTs, including several CalTrans districts,
rely on InfoTek for live, real-time traffic information 24/7. Whether
you need numbers of vehicles, occupancy, speed, vehicle length or weight,
or almost any parameter you can measure, the InfoTek platform with
its Intelligent Loop Detection Application (ILDA) software can capture the
data, relay it in real time wherever you need it—field engineers’ mobile
units or your database—while our advanced bi-directional capability
can send back any messages or signals based on user-defined rules, such
as SMS to field personnel or signals to change a highway sign message.
It also stores and presents the data in any format you need,
allowing you to share your data with others, handle congestion
in a timely way, schedule maintenance or collate data for
federal requirements. Our software is compatible with Oracle,
MS SQL, and most large-scale database products.
Data from California’s Freeway Performance Measuring
System (PeMS), operated by the University of California at
Berkeley, show that InfoTek traffic data installations
are operational a state best 99.2% of the time in some districts.
InfoTek was one of eight companies selected from
more than 100 applicants to participate in a public-private
partnership project as part of California’s Innovative
Corridor Initiative in 2005. Currently, the project is in
the implementation phase.

With the InfoTek platform, your WIM data is
downloaded automatically 24/7/365 and available for analysis the
next day. You get unique lane-by-lane reporting and control. You define
your own validation rules. For example, CalTrans currently uses
18 rules, such as Class 15 vehicles as a percent of total traffic, class 9 vehicles with
a gross weight exceeding 80,000 lbs., and the range for the average
speed of all vehicle classes.Once we have customized the system with your rules, you
set and change the limits per site and per lane yourself with our
industry-leading GUI interface.
